Huayuan County has close cultural and commercial connections with Taiwan. Famous Taiwanese singer Teresa Teng once composed the song “You Are Beautiful” for Biancheng Chadong. Every year, many Taiwanese compatriots visit Shibadong Village and Biancheng Chadong for sightseeing.
Focusing on new materials, new energy, new agriculture and new cultural tourism, the county government has introduced preferential policies and established industrial funds, greatly increasing investment attractiveness.
At the exchange meeting, the county government signed strategic cooperation agreements with Taiwan-related enterprises on comprehensive tea investment cooperation projects, organic fruit and vegetable production and processing projects, and regional rooftop distributed photovoltaic projects.
They will leverage the advantages of industrial clusters and work together to promote the development of new quality productive forces.
In Shibadong Village, they visited the Targeted Poverty Alleviation Exhibition Hall and Lizi Village, enjoyed Miao intangible cultural heritage programs, listened to stories of rural revitalization, and danced together with the local Miao people.
Gong Shiming, secretary general of the Association for Agricultural Exchange Across the Taiwan Straits, hoped to bring characteristic agricultural products such as Xiangxi kiwifruit to Taiwan and the experience of creative agriculture to Hunan, improve products’ added value, and help people to earn more money.
